Week2 Prompt

Week 2
How might the concept of produsage be applied in your life (personal and/or professional) as it stands today? Are you already a produser? If yes, what do you do? If no, why not?

The term Produsage refers to Produce + Usage in collaborative knowledge context.
Well, it is not easy to say that I am a kind of producer in a certain area.
Although I am a heavy user in social media, I am just a consumer, I think.

But,
In my retrospect, I was a kind of producer in two area.
First, when I was a middle school kid, I made a personal website about an online game.
Yes, I was an online game user as well as a game fan page master.
The screenshot shows an online game 'Legend of Darkness' I played.
My fan page was enrolled in Yahoo search, so a lot of gamers visited my fan page.
I remember that the total visitors in my fan page was approximately 100,000.
At that time, I used Dreamweaver to develop my webpage.
My fan page had various contents including discussion boards.

Second,I wanted to be an amateur Hiphop musician.
So I signed up Millim.com (Now its service is not available)
But I found its old screenshot.
Millim.com was a kind of user-led music creation & sharing website.
I used my nickname 'Lyricist'. and I uploaded my self-made music to Millim.com
Millim users can listen to my music, and I can listen to other's music.
Some famous Millim users became real major musician in Korean Hiphop now.
(Yes! I am a big fan of Korean Hiphop for 16years!)

Unfortunately, those two things mentioned above are now unavailable.
Currently, I am definitely a consumer in all Internet areas.
Why? I think that I am currently passive.

Actually I want to be a producer in my personal as well as professional areas.
However, I have no energy to be a producer.. now I am satisfied being a consumer.
How can I be a producer?
The answer will be making a personal learning network, and then collecting, sharing, re-generating something..

  1. Tang,
I can't believe you were an online web game developer even in middle school, and yet I do believe it! That is pretty impressive, and 100,000 fans- wow! Don't you think the mobile learning tool that you're working on now makes you a produser?

    1. Erin, I was not a developer of an online web game!
I was just a web-master of my personal game fan page!
I made a website by Dreamweaver, then register my website on Yahoo.com!
Many game players and visitors visited my website, yes, more than 100,000!
